IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE ALIVE

It comes out of the earth by means of machines that are fuelled by it, and it is refined and packaged by such self-referring machines before being shipped around the world in vehicles that all need it to operate, and now it feeds into every aspect of our lives, our economies, our pleasures and our pains, it has dripped into our politics and our religions. Yes, it pulls itself out of the earth by means of our human "civilisation", which it has colonised, turning swathes of humanity into exploited labor, or else into canon-fodder, meat for weapons that are produced from, by, and for it, all for more and more oil ever flowing, flowing and combusting, dispersing and warming our planet.
